Here are some things to do if you cannot connect:
(of course you won’t be able to see this if it does go wrong! So it may be worth saving or printing this page out just in case)
Pinging
If you follow these instructions you can see whether your computer is “talking” to the Satellite gateway to the Internet.
In Windows, open the Command Prompt, go Programs, Accessories, then Command Prompt (it’s the little black box). Then type ping 192.168.1.1 then press Enter, and you should see a screen like this, which is good.
Tip: if you press the up arrow on your keyboard, you can repeat the last ping command, without having to type in all those numbers again

If the reply is, Request timed out, then you do not have a connection.
How to Fix it
In most cases the most probable cause is that the Wireless box has crashed and needs restarting. This is done by unplugging it from the power source, then plugging it back in again. Rebooting usually takes between 1 and 3 minutes. If you can see the lights on the box, the one marked, “WLAN” will be flashing - that is good. If after some time, it is not flashing, then try again, and if, still you have no success give Richard a call and he will fix it!
If you have an internal wireless network, the Wireless Router may have crashed too. The same, power off and on, usually fixes it.
If you can Ping but still can’t get the Internet, then it could be that Satellite connection to Belgium has probably failed, temporarily. This can happen during thunderstorms or heavy snow. Click here for satellite news
